About Rory

Rory is the full sister to Licensed Stallion, Cerulean Southern Cross, RIDSH. She is a complete blessing to us as we wanted a filly out of our Premium mare before her retirement. Rory's dam is one of a handful of mares in the world to earn every Premium Predicate in the German Verband. Her dam is none other than, HMPC/CM/JBP Good Reason, Imported Hanoverian.

"Goodie" competed at Grand Prix Level Show Jumping and was sold in her prime for nearly $200,000 US. She cleaned up in both Professional and Youth big money divisions internationally in 3 countries, Germany, Spruce Meadows, Canada and the US, in Levels 4, 5 and 6 Jumpers, placing top 3 in most competitions.

Good Reason has exceeded “exceptional standards” and "much higher standards" as announced by President of the American Hanoverian Society. A truly special mover, Good Reason has also been successfully trained to 4th level dressage. Goodie is out of States Premium Hanoverian Mare SPS Minette who was out of SPS Wenette.

Good Reason is sired by Goodman, Hanoverian at the Celle State Stud in Germany. Goodman was Adelheidsdorf 1997 Reserve Champion out of 37 at his Hanoverian Licensing, achieving equally high scores for jumping and dressage. Goodman is a proven producer of both international jumpers and dressage champions. His sire is the German Hanoverian 2004 Stallion of the Year, the famous Premium Hanoverian stallion, Graf Grannus. Graf Grannus is considered one of Germany’s most successful sires, with Goodman listed as one of his top 3 most notable approved stallion sons.

Rory's sire, the Legendary Bridon Belfrey, is the cornerstone of our Cerulean breeding program. Belfrey is a notable sire of sires and many Class 1 mares. ​At 6 months old, Belfrey took the title as Champion North American Foal at the IDHSNA breed show. Belfrey's dam, Flagmount Belle, RID, won numerous IDHS(NA) championships and earned the prestigious title of Irish Draught Champion of North America. Belfrey’s maternal grandsire, Flagmount King, RID, was one of only 2 Grade “A” Grand Prix Show Jumping RID stallions in the world at that time. 

Rory's sire descends from distinguished jumping lines of Laughton, Tara and King of Diamonds as well as the rare lines of Atlantic Boy and Rusheen Hero. Rory's sire's granddam is the all-time greatest producing dam of Approved RID stallion sons in Irish Draught history, Gowran Betty, RID.  Gowran Betty, RID paired with one of the most notable jumping sires, King of Diamonds, made headlines with 7 Approved Registered Irish Draught stallions. King of Diamonds stamped his progeny and grand progeny with traditional Irish Draught type and undeniably superior jumping talent. Royally bred top and bottom, Rory is certain to make her mark in competition and on the Irish Draught Sport Horse breed.​
