Padis Classic Design is a valuable asset to our select purebred Irish Draught breeding program. "Lia's" sire is the legendary Silver Merit, Class 1 stallion, Mountain Pearl, whose total outcross bloodlines are considered pure gold in the Irish Draught world. I had the great pleasure to witness Mountain Pearl's show jumping performance at Equitana in Louisville, Kentucky. This impressive 17.2 stallion not only soared over near 1.40 meters in a tiny arena, but he had perfect form and walked off on the buckle amidst crowds and several other stallions in close proximity. Lia is out of the exquisite traditional RID mare, Loguestown Classic by Annaghdown Star.

Lia is one of very few purebred Mountain Pearl, RID daughters still producing in the US. And she is a color producer! Lia stands 16.3, is traditionally built and notably uphill. Her lovely topline flows into one of the best saddle positions we've seen in the breed. She has a strong short-coupled back, balanced conformation, very correct limbs and ample bone. Lia feels like a gentle mountain, yet she moves like a dream, light on her feet. We couldn't be more pleased with our two purebred foals, Cerulean Designer Pearls and Cerulean Frankly Scarlett by Bridon Belfrey. And now a third purebred filly by Belfrey graced us in 2025!! We have decided to retain Cerulean Kyri A. as a future competition horse and mare for the future. She is also homozygous black, the DNA Holy Grail of color in the ID world!
